Poem - An Itty Bitty "Diddy" for a Bridge No Longer in Baltimore
Sometimes it's okay to compare yourself to others
A bridge in Baltimore done got kerplunked
Thanks to failed ship, bridge workers were downed, dunked
Did captain and crew suffer some sea schism?
A simple, cruel act of terrorism?
The men on that old steel bridge were at work
Had no clue when it started to slam-jerk
They probably thought it was a wind gust
Not something that would make the seaboard bust
Let this be a lesson to you, me, us
To speak with thanks, though we just wanna cuss:
“Start work when? No way! At 5 in the morn?!”
You’d rather be sleeping or watching porn
Greet each day with glee; laugh, smile, never cry!
Enjoy yourself, sing out loud, don’t be shy
Hold on to wonder for infinity
Try to be damn glad you’re not P Diddy!!!
Tragic accident.
Massive sorrow for the lost lives of the innocent men working to support their families. For their families, for the reprehensible characterization of people just like them seeking freedom.
