Sonnet - "You Gotta Fight for Your Right to (fill in the blank)"
No, I'm not joking. You fill in the blank up above. It's like a sonnet-lib.
I sat there a child stoic and dense
Crossed my arms, refused to learn from the book
My teachers spoke of nothing but sense
There was a blank I could not overlook
I hid from the answer, always so tense
I was an outright fool, nearly a crook.
Had to make a change, I got off the fence
Some effort, stress and sweat is all it took
That’s the advice to everyone hence
Use your head and you’ll go to king from rook
Want old world wealth, shiny crowns, not just pence?
Truth be told? It must! Your peers are lazy
Just show up, act the part, be not crazy
Don’t stop, though the view is sometimes hazy
Plan to fight, like Road House’s Patrick Swayze.
