The sparkling shadows sequined in the day
The grainy ghosts zip and zoom in the night
Dawn explodes, and warming hues gush my way
The dark drapes like poison, dreams transport fright
The mowers drone under a watchful jay
The moonlight wanes, creates withering blight
The high sun forms nature’s church, so I pray
The giant stars yield no real candlelight
I know you can’t have one without others
If there’s a choice, I have my druthers
It’s not so much that at night I can’t see
Ya seen the cost of electricity?
Romantic verse, oft penned by midnight moon
When love is on the docket, yep, I’ll swoon
But gotta see what you look like at noon!
