Sonnet - Throwing Shade on a Sunflower
A short springtime poetic offering….
Tell me your secret right now, sunflower!
Or I’ll trim you, set shears in quick motion
It’s not fair that you have so much power
Why don’t you ever need block or lotion?!
You’re out here baking under the burnt rays
I go out for mail and my skin gets charred
Your face is so fresh in the dazzling haze
Methinks that nature’s messing with the Bard!
